Shippen family papers, 1797-1860 (inclusive), [microform].

The papers consist of correspondence and legal papers of Dr. William Shippen of Petersburg, Virginia; Bristol, Pennsylvania; and Philadelphia and of other Shippen family members including E. C. Izard, Ann H. Shippen Livingston, Ann Lee Shippen, Lucy Carter, and a nephew who was with Commodore Perry on his expedition to Japan, 1854-1855. Dr. Shippen was the grandson of Dr. William Shippen of Philadelphia.
